Hey all,

Been messing with my Z (adjusted the TPS.. seemed to help smooth out the shifting), and was thinking about adjusting my idle. According to this thread - how-to-properly-adjust-your-idle-t477131.html

I actually posted the Q at the end of that thread, but not sure anyone will see it there.

My Z idles at around 1200 rpm when in park, but at about 800 when in gear with foot on the break.

The instructions (and all the threads I've found) aren't clear on the proper idle speed for an automatic.

Thought I'd post my Q on its own to see if I can get a clear answer.

Thanks! Hope everyone had a great Holiday season!

I think that around 750-800 rpm should be right, a little higher than a manual (700-750) to help takeoff. The FSM may mention the AT idle number but I don't recall as I was in most recently for MT idle help.
When I still had the AT in my NA I went for that number, which is a pretty standard idle setting for most AT vehicles IIRC.
