I have recently installed a Remote Start system in my 97 QX4 using the wiring information that I found on-line on a few sites. This info is partially INCORRECT. The door lock wires are backwards, the door trigger is incorrect, and there are a number of other mistakes. If you are planning on having an alarm installed, I suggest you bring this to the shop that will be installing the alarm.
I got this information from the factory service manual for my 97 QX4, and I don't know wat other vehicles this is accurate for. I spent a few hours searching through various sections of the electrical portion of the manual and looking at many schematics to map out the correct wiring. I have verified that these are correct. There are some wires that are not needed, but I included them anyway. There is no need for a key module since there is no chip in the key. If you are installing a remote start alarm, the factory dis-arm is required. For added security, you can connect the factory re-arm to the alarm as well. anything with a NR denotes the need to use a relay. SEU is the factory security module and the number in () is the pin number. This is useful as there are repeats of some of the wire colors like yellow/green for the headlights.

This is a FYI, not a guide to install an alarm. If you don't know what all of this means, I suggest that you don't attempt to install an alarm yourself.
