I just pulled my rb25det out of my s14 that was installed with a core motor mount kit and one of the seemingly design-flawed bushings on the motor mount ripped apart.....

Does anyone know of an interchangeable replacement (parts store available) or even better an upgrade replacement for this part?

Can you show a picture and take measurements of the bushing?

I was actually working on making polyurethane replacement bushings for these mounts since the isolators are junk and lots of people have had them fail/rip. Luckily mine haven't, but I still don't trust them.

Would you be interested in being a guinea pig?

the isolator itself from plate to plate is 2" long and the width of the octagon shaped plate is 2.75" wide as well as the circle shaped plate that ripped off.

I would definitely be willing to test out your design as I was an autoglass tech for some years and I know the potential shear strength of modern polyurethane. If I remember correctly, when surfaces are primed properly, a tensil strength around 1200lbs. per sq. in. The only thing is, I have a 2 week deadline to get the car back together.

Maybe hockey pucks will work, they just need a hole drilled. Search for it lots of people are running them. I'm running on solid motor mounts at the moment, a bit rough at idle but it really smooths up when moving and acceleration. You can feel everything, wouldn't recommend it without strut tower braces and stitch welding though.

Man, I'm using these mounts. No problem so far, but I got it tuned up in January and it makes a little more power now.

Anchor Engine MountPart No. 2381

Advanced Auto parts: part #2381

this is why they break apart: $10

Another reason why I'm glad I went with the ruckus-racing mounts

Good find. That would make sense for why they fail so frequently. $10...

poly is great, but just to offer another option, I'm using hockey pucks with mckinney style mounts. Not sure how these mounts compare to these "core mounts" but the strength of Yugoslavian rubber pucks has held up without any issues on a stock rb25 for more than a year now. plus the motor sits a little lower than what the McKinney poly ones allow.
