Given that the Q is as fast as it is, I'm surprised I've not seen any threads similar to this. On other forums I've been involved with, it was a common thing. Maybe Q owners all drive the speed limit.

Anyway, for those in Washington.....I was headed north on I-5 a couple days ago and saw a car in the southbound lane being pulled over by a late model, unmarked Toyota Land Cruiser with red/blue flashers on the dash. Could be something that was confiscated, or maybe a test program (State Troopers here had V70 wagons a couple years back on loan from Volvo), or it could be the cops are expanding their fleet. This was a couple miles north of Ft. Lewis. I don't know if it was local, state, or what. Watch out.

Check out an old thread called Infiniti Speeding Stories. Lots of crazy stuff.

Here, I've seen them use Volvo wagons and Taurus sedans.

They have been doing that before I moved from there over a year ago.

Funniest thing was back in TX seeing the State Troopers in Black and White pickups.

The worst is seeing State Troopers in BMWs in upstate SC. They get a few from the plant in Greenville. That's got to add insult to injury to most people... not only can I bend you over... but I drive a nicer car too!

I think it's psychological. Cops don't see bright colors, hear loud exhausts, or catch that small, fast, shiny object in their peripheral vision.(like a baby in a crib )

They see a shiny understated import sedan which looks expensive. IMHO

The first (and only) time I've ever seen that was a trip to the Detriot area (specifically it was the Auburn Hills PD, IIRC).

display of excessive rims is a sign of innate and uncontrolled regressive hysterical narcissism

Proof of small tiny body parts and the need to compensate with big massive rims.

The massive gold chains/ bracelets of yore [the bling of the 80's].

But they probably handle it well.

G50's? Y33's? Both? Just a little curious.

Think i got most of those beat... Saw someone pulled over by a POS purple/brown minivan in N.VA outside of DC. Couldnt beleive my eyes. Also saw an undercover Talon goin down 495 which kinda freaked me out because its the first "sporty" undercover cop ive seen in the area. Silly cops...

Bunch of Z28's around here. Some Expeditions, and Explorers. The usual Crown Vics as well. You all should be looking out for Dodge Chargers as well. They're special building those for some for the departments that need them ::cough LAPD cough::

Are cops in these cars uniformed? At some point, a blue Pontiac Vibe driven by two guys who looked like they were 19 had blue and yellow grille lights, and I guess attempted to pull me over. I didn't stop, assuming they were kids with electronics knowledge, considering they had passenger car plates, the Air Force bumper sticker, and a bunch of crap piled in the back.

Yeah , he is. The camaros are just chipped and I'm pretty sure are automatics.

Don't forget the new Tahoes for the NY troopers.

One sorta interesting cop car that I have seen was around the Goldsboro, NC area.

Picture this: I'm cruising down highway 70 over the course of a few days, and I keep seeing this bright red Camaro SS ('00-'02 model year). One day, I see a car pulled over on the side of the road and behind it is, what else, that same red SS with alternating flashing headlights and bright blue LEDs flashing all over within. It was at that point that I noticed all of the 30ft tall antennas on the trunk.

The only thing of interest is that, usually, police Camaros are Z28s (and automatic). AFAIK, all of the SLP packaged F bodies (SS Camaros and WS6 T/As) of that generation were 6 speed manuals. Up to that point, I've never actually seen an M/T police vehicle.

Long time ago they used M/T Mustangs. Drivers had to take a special course on how to use the radio, shift, and drive all at the same time.

In GA i've seen Navigator, in Brooklyn Ford escort both were special teams (narcs).

What i cant stand is the off duty cop violating the law....like doing 65 in 35 zone for no apparent reason, except it's a sunny day and the Altima S or Superbike is clean.

Actually NO, you could get a WS6 TA or Camaro SS with a 4AT transmission also. Friend of mine had a 99 TA WS6 with a AUTO, and I seen a few SS Camaros with 4ATs also.

In my area they use Jeep Cherokees, Impalas, Crown Vics and sometimes I see a old Caprice now and then. Camaros on the interstate along with GT Mustangs are normal too. But its eassy to tell those guys as their back end is loow to the ground with all the equipment, 30 diff antennas on the car and tinted rear windows. They are all stock, nothing is done to a Police car. Friend of mine used to maintain a fleet of cars for the IL State Police, and they can't drive and beat the **** out of their cars. Install N2o and they will blow the engine sky high.
