Well, realize that your in california.

Not only is the SR illegal in all states, in california there are many other laws which you will break by running an SR.

The fines will probably run you over 2500 dollars, and depending on the judge that sentences you if you are caught, you could end up doing a large amount of community service, and probably have to have your car pass a BAR station's tests, or you pay the fine and register your car as a OHV.

If you do not get caught, most of the time you will have to pay off smog statons to pass your car, registration just requires a recent smog cert up in my area. Probably the same in socal but you guys have stricter smog tests....run your car on a dyno for example. That and depending on whereyou live, you sometimes HAVE to goto a state referee to get your car passed.

Houston? man I hate that city...the highways drive me nuts, it seems like no matter what I ALWAYS end up in an exit only lane!!! Oh well, maybe I just hate it because going to houston means visiting relatives and it's not exactly the most exciting thing :)

Houston's Harris County has Cali emissions laws as well.

Depends on where you go and where you live. I know out here, shoot, I dont know of any place that does emissions around here. Iam not sure on the emission laws on VA, but I think it would be very easy to get it to pass. Just ask your friends where they went to get inspection and ask if they had their emissions checked.

It could be done here in Cali. Do some research into Cali state laws regarding the installation of non-factory motors. Check out DMV online, there's a bunch of info you'll need to know on what to do.
