ARE THE FLEX-A-LITE 230 SERIES LOW PROFILE DUAL 2500CFM ELECTRIC FANS ENOUGH COOLING POWER FOR AN RB20 RUNNING 500-550 WHP?

1 2500 maybe2 2500's yes.

make sure you use a good aftermarket radiator.

WHY THE STOCK RADIATOR IS FINE. ITS TWO FANS RATED AT 2500CFM FOR BOTH.

if you are pushing 500whp you are obviously gonna run a front mount. the stock radiator will have problems with that. it does not cool well enough using already very heated air comming through the IC. espically here in AZ. but do it your way.

AND A TWO PLUS CORE WILL DO WHAT? AND THE FRONT MOUNT I JUST PURCHASED IS A LOW RISE AND IT BLOCKS VERY LITTLE OF THE RADIATOR. THIS IS ALSO GOING TO BE A NIGHT-ONLY DRIVEN CAR.

Maybe, but that one time you take it out during the day to show your friends and you think that it will be a quick trip and you get caught in traffic...

I DON'T NEED TO GO SHOW MY FRIENDS ON TOP OF THAT I HAVE TWO OTHER CARS I CAN DRIVE PLUS A COMPANY TRUCK I HAVE ACCESS TOO.

ITS ACTUALLY GOING TO BECOME A TRACK CAR WHEN I'M DONE, AND YES ITS GETTING A ALUMINUM RADIATOR.

YES WE FINALLY GOT IT STARTED ON SUNDAY. THEN WE SAW THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD IS LEAKING ALONG WITH THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. PLUS ON TOP OF THAT THERE IS AN OBSCENE AMOUNT OF LIFTER NOISE. SO I MAYBE GIVING VENUS ANOTHER CALL.

WELL NOW I CAN GET ANY OF THEM RUNNING, I'M IN THE PROCESS OF ASSEMBLING THE STROKER RB23DET. I'M GOING TO DUMP THE DESTROKER PROJECT, I HAVE BIG PLANS FOR THIS STROKER MOTOR (WHICH MEANS BIG DOLLAR SIGNS). ANYWAY I HAVE AN EXACT SWAP GUIDE FOR RB20DET INTO 89-90 S13 INCLUDING COMPLETE RUNNING GAUGES.

How long did you let it run? Maybe the lifters needed to pump up since the motor prob sat for a while.

WE RAN IT FOR 5-10 MINS ON 3-4 DIFFERERNT OCCASIONS. SO BASICALLY 10 MINS THEN SHUT DOWN AND COOL OFF, REPEAT.

WE ARE THINKING THE SAME THING SO WE ARE GOING TO FIX EVERYTHING AND RUN IT, IF IT DOES GET FIXED WE WILL REPAIR THEM.
