So, I finally got around to installing my 160* F thermostat. WOW. ~170*F in the upper rad hose, and my stock gauge finally reads 1/2. I beat the hell outta my car (boosted almost the whole way home from work) yesterday in 98*F ambient temps. No issue at all. If you want one for yourself, here ya go:http://www.instockauto.com/ite...2Ejpg

Also in my cooling system (in case you don't know lol):- Koyo R1276 (dual core)- Custom oil cooler, filer relocator- Nismo rad cap- Rigid Racing upper radiator panel- 160* thermostat (duh)- Zirgo 16" electric fan w/ electric thermostat (which harldy turns on anymore lol)

I wonder why you have had to do all these cooling mods... I have a stock rad, with a 160* thermostat, a small-ish 14in. fan that is set to come on at 180*(never comes on unless im doing a long highway run over like 2 miles or so). But I also dont have a a/c condenser. so maybe thats why I have problems getting the motor to warm up.

It gets real hot here, and I just wanted to make sure that I had a good supporting cooling system before I start loading up the engine with more power (and therefore more heat). Preventative modification.

LOL, you said it gets hot there. The high here wasn't below 100 degrees for almost 2 weeks straight. I'm running a stock rad, a crap dodge caravan fan I ganked from the junkyard and a 165* thermo. My motor has NEVER seen over 180* since the rebuild. And I beat the crap out of it....daily.

With the 180* thermo, it would sit around 180* moving through traffic, but would spike to 190-195* if I was getting on it hard or sitting in traffic for a while. I just wanted to be super safe. Call me a wuss.

PLUS, the bling from the radiator and oil cooler gives my car +500 rice points lol I got a sick deal on all my stuff, so I thought I should go ahead and spring for it all.

i took mine out. after having the crappy tire ones fail on me twice, i'd rather have the car take 5 minutes to get to NOT than have an a/m one fail every 2000 km's.
