I went to the dealer and they told me that I had water leaking from the cooling systems and that I need upper and lower hoses and clamps. The upper hose is $16.00 and the clamps less than $5.00. The bottom hose I will have to get from infiniti which is around $40.00. Well, why did they (infiniti) quote me $1220.00.

Labor and coolant is not free BUT this is a 1.2 HR job (per labor guide) so $1220 actually sounds high to me. They probably added in coolant flush and other service. Best to ask them. Make them itemize the job for you.

Highway robbery.

~$200 or so for labor max and another $100 in parts. Shouldn't be more than $300-350.

Very vague of them. I might as well go under the car to verify that the car is indeed leaking. Coolant has a very unique smell when it burns off.
Recently a dealership quoted someone an entire radiator for a very replaceable part that costs under $7.
