Hi everyone,

I have a 2003 g35 coupe and i am about to conduct a coolant service.

I have 2 questions.

1. How many gallons does the cooling system require so i can buy the necessary amount of coolant, i am planning to empty the coolant reservoir as well and refill it.2. Do i mix the coolant with a 50/50 ratio along with demineralised water?

All the best. Yianni

I think you may need two gallons of antifreeze to fully fill the res with the correct mixture. I would get a manual for the recommendation in your area.

With a spare contain mix to the ratio using the other two. You should have an extra container at the end for topping off purposes if I am correct about the capacity. Remember to burbed it well as you do have a heater core.

1.8 gallons of mixed antifreeze/water. Do you have a vaccum pump or something? to flush it all out correctly, remove your radiator cap (after the car has cooled) remove drain plug at the bottom right of the radiator, place your hand over the radiator cap hole to suck out the reservoir fluid, then when its done, remove your hand and let it drain for 15 minutes, then remove your lower radiator hose and let anything else drain out as well. Do not remove the trans cooler lines. Once its all drained, reconnect your hoes and place your vaccum fitting over the radiator cap hole and start the pump action. After the hoses have collapsed and look like a worm that got kicked in the stomach and never recovered, you'll know vaccum is good. If you have the coolant drained into a big bucket, run a hose from the bucket to the vaccum fitting and release. The coolant will be sucked into the radiator/engine by vaccum and then you can top it off if necessary.
