So not sure what to make of this. So it's starting to get cooler at night here so I started using the heater in my 240 again. Well tonight I got the faint smell of coolant all of a sudden but no change in the temp gauge no steam flying out of the hood, just the faint smell of coolant when I turned my heater on. Well when I got home I opened my hood to check the hoses and I heard a slurrrp slurrrp slurrrp noise coming from the 2 lines running into my heater core.... What does this mean or is this normal??? If it is I've never paid attention to it. So not quite sure what to make of it. Any ideas? Or should I just say screw it and freaking ditch the heater and condense my coolant lines? Thanks for any info/ideas :dblthumb:

Maybe a bad heater core or a possible leak????

if you smelled something, your heater core could be leaking
get a pressure tester to find out where the leak is

heater cores go bad because of electrolysis... this is usually due to poorly maintained cooling systems or bad engine grounds

Yeah could have been the previous owner who I bought the car from. I'm pretty sure my car sat in a field for a few years with the hood up lol. He put a junk ka24e in it, and ran some kind of crap sealer through the cooling system. When that E seized up that's when I did the CA swap, and I'm pretty sure even though I've tried to flush the system out 5+ times I'm sure it still didn't get all that crap cleared out, and I even bought a new radiator for it. But I'm thinking of just chopping those lines and just condensing the coolant lines because I don't plan on taking my dash out any time soon to see if my heater core is shot.
