I want to flush the radiator on my 1994 Nissan 4x4 King Cab D-21 pickup, manual transmission, 4cylinder engine.

My Chilton shop manual says the KA24E engine has an air relief plug that needs to be opened to bleed trapped air when I refill the radiator. But a Haynes manual I have seems to be saying only the 6-cylinder engine has an air relief plug. Could that be right?

Anyone have experience with my truck? The diagram in the Chilton manual shows what looks like a 3/8" or so hex nut approximately where my truck has about a 3/4" square nut, toward the passenger side on a metal tube behind the radiator/fan. Is this the air relief? If you don't know, how would I determine if it is?

I could send a photo if that would help . . .

Thanks,

Steve

The 'bleeder' screw on the 4 cylinder is located right next to the coolant temp sensor which is on the front of the intake manifold. The screw is 10mm and has a small 'Caution Hot' sticker next to it. There is a copper washer on the screw which is easily lost. Take the screw out. Next fill the system slowly. Close the bleeder screws once coolant flows out with no air bubbles. The screw is under some wires so be careful not to lose it or the copper washer when removing or installing. Hope that helps.

Found it: "NEVER OPEN WHEN HOT". Thanks for your help!
