cooling probles

i put a new water pump and now on high way after about 11 miles it starts to over heat and i look in the radiator and have to put water but streets its fine. if anyone had this problem please help me

don't quite understand what your saying but try bleeding the cooling system/

Yeah same here ,but u should bleed coolant for air,and check the thermostat, and when u said street it don't get hot only on the highway,or u ment streem of water in the radiator.also check your bottom and top hoses,if the bottom hose feels cool and the top hot,then your thermostat is bad.

i had a weird cooling issue and all signs pointed to the thermostat, i got a new one from NAPA put it in, still overheated. I took the thermostat out completely and now it runs fineand im running on pure hose water its totaly fine in summer, but il have to fix it for real b4 winter comes

Don't mean to sound like a smart a@@ but did you put the thermostat in the correct way? It sounds like you may have had it in backwards. Where you live you can get away with no thermostat but here in Vegas if we take the termostat out the water will flow through the radiator too fast and not cool properly.

Yeah you had it in backwards. Besides preventing your coolant from freezing, antifreeze also has anti-corrosion properties. Using water will cool your car just fine, better than antifreeze actually, but it will rust your cooling system, especially if there is air in it.
