My 95 240 is heating up very quickly. After about 1 minutes of easy driving, its already at the "H". One time, i was looking at my engine after a drive and the hose that goes from the radiator to the thermostat blew off of the thermostat elbow. Coolant went everywhere. This led me to believe that my thermostat wasn't opening. The thermostat was brand new also. Could it be faulty? Anything helps.

sounds like when you got everything put back together after the blow off theirs now air in the system... mines the same way ever since i replaced the thermostat, but my cars sitting this winter too... (so theirs no damage to engine, if any)

these cars seem to be very picky about bleeding the coolant system, id have it rebleed of the air, try n jack the front end up start the car with the rad cap off... i too have to do this.

if you turn on the heater, does it blow hot air, if the air is cold or warm when the engine temp reads normal it may have an air pocket in the cooling system that needs to bleed out. if it does blow hot air, you may have a plugged radiator, faulty waterpump or a faulty thermostat. there is also the possibility that the head gasket is blown, but i would not jump to that conclusion until you have gone through the cooling system and made sure everything else is operating properly.
