5 mins after engine is started temp gauge goes from 200 degrees to 300 degrees or off the scale. Don't know what is causing this problem. Radiator is full and i opened up the bleeder valve until coolant ran out but still getting air in the system and don't know why. Can someone help?

welcome to nico!

can you verify that the car is overheating? 5 minutes to get to 300 from a cold start seems abnormally fast. it really sounds like your temp gauge or more likely your thermal transmitter is bad.

Just went out to the car to check the coolant level. Took off the radiator cap and i could see just a little fluid in the radiator and there was no coolant in the overflow. I unloosened the bleed valve again and topped off the coolant. I am currently running the car at idle with the radiator cap off and the Heater on high. The gauge is running at about 180 right now. This is about the forth time i have done this in a week. Am I Doing Something Wrong? Please Help?

the 240 is a pain to bleed. you gotta get the front end up in the air as high as safely possible and use a bleeder funnel and run the car for an extended period of time in the position reving it from idle every now and then to help purge the trapped air.

You know Chris since they shipped that cooling system vaccum tool I have had nearly no problems bleeding anything, even the quest anymore. It is an awesome tool. I like the fact you can check for a leak when the system is under vaccum too.

yeah, i felt the same way for like a month. then it broke. so the shop bought a snap-on unit. it broke in like 2 weeks. i need to pick one up for my own use.
