Well ever since i installed the front mount i have been having a cooling problem i know the fmic is blocking air but whats going on under the hood is odd, it never gets pegged out just like 80% on the gauge, when i pop the hood my coolant resivor is full and venting all over the ground, any ideas, i bled the system last night, no air in it maybe my thermostat doesnt like my fmic?

Thanks,

-Todd

what process did you use to bleed the system? I just want to make sure you did it correctly. Also what type of fan/fans do you have cooling the system? One more did you replace your water pump when you installed the motor?

Yeah ever since I installed my fmic on my rb20det it has done the same thing. I finally added another fan, and I'm putting in a new water pump and thermostat. I will see if it helps soon enough. If that doesn't solve my problem then I am gonna make a lower cowl induction for my radiator. What radiator are you running. I mean I have the skyline radiator too. My fans are a Perma cool 14" and a 12" no name.~ANDREW~

Not to threadjack or anything but I've been having overheating issues with my 25 when I turn my A/C on even at highway speeds. I'm running FAL 210s as pullers with the stock KA radiator and a Hybrid FMIC. I'm going to add a 10" pusher infront of the condenser and see if it helps. I really don't want to have to buy a Koyo because my pullers won't fit if I do and I'd have to rig them up as pushers which is quite a bit less efficient. Any other ideas. (Yes, the water pump and thermostat were replaced less than 200 miles ago and the system has been bled appropriately from the top screw on the intake manifold).

Right now im using the stock Ka radiator with 2 10 inch puller fans that run all the time, i havent replaced the water pump or the thermostat yet, im thinking about changing fans to 2 12'' fans if i can fit them that pull some crazy cfms and a koyo oem replacement radiator, i dont think my thermostat or my waterpump is the problem. When i bled the system i started the car let it run for a min then poped the radiator cap along wit the plug in the intake manifold and waited till i had straight coolant comming out of the burp hole. Im gonna try this process again tonight after work, let me ask you guys this, i was able to run puller fans would adding a 14'' pusher infront of the condensor help out?

Any fan recomendations?

Thanks

MISTAKE!you should always take off the water pump to atleast inspect it and ALWAYS replace the thermostat!thermostats are cheap insurance and they can go bad at anytime, spend the 14$ at the dealer for a z32 TT stat.

I probobly would have replaced it but when i got the motor the waterpump had a crapload of rtv coming out it and looked "newer" than the motor, and was straped for cash at the time of the swap, i wish i could have replaced the waterpump, thermostat, and clutch the clutch replacement is gonna be a whore to do now, but im gonna change out the thermo in a week when i get the new koyo copper core radiator, what year 300ztt thermostat will work?

thanks

Is it ok to run a 170F thermostat instead of the ~180 thermostat or will it cause tuning problems later on down the road? Heard someone say earlier that it will effect the fuel maps.

Anyone know if a KA nismo thermostat will fit a 20?

If so, I've heard very good things about these thermostats.. And there only like $40 so theres almost no excuse!

rb20 thermo is the same as the z32, just run a geniune nissan TT stat from any year and you will be good to go.
