Cooling fan dumb question

I know this may be a dumb question but is the fan infront of the radiator supposed to go faster as RPMs go up. I have never noticed this before. I can hear the fan going faster as I drive and idk if that is normal.

the mechanical fan has a temperature sensetive hub, it fully locks up whtn it gets hot enough then it matches the engine speed exactly and sounds like a bus, otherwise it slips a bit to save on the amount fo power needed to turn it
