Cooling fan activation temp?

2013 AWD S. Coolant temp hits over 205 and cooling fans do not kick in, but they run if I turn on the AC. I thought they were supposed to kick in over 195F? Is that normal? It's never overheated BTW.

No, with the AC off the fan should be kicking on low speed at 208F, high speed at 212F. You can find the charts on EC-74 here:

You can check both speeds of the fan using the IPDM auto-active test. The temp reading goes straight to the ECM, so if what's coming out of your scanner seems accurate, the sensor is fine.
