Just finding ways to cool down my RB. I have heard of some people ducting their 240sx correctly with block off plates on the top and bottem of the opening between the bumper and radiator to direct the air flow into their radiator without flowing out. Not sure how well that works with those people not running the 89-90 bumpers that have a fmic like me that is covering the whole opening of the bumper, blocking all of the air flow coming in.

I have also heard people making a scooped ducting plate for the bottom of their car allowing air to be pulled up and into the radaitor.

Just seeing if anyone has had any luck with any.

thanks

i used a street sign thats bolted to my subframe it runs from the inside of the front bumper all the way to the transmission, and i have a cooling plate on top of my rad. sort of helped, if your having cooling issues and are thinking this will help you need to start with a n1 water pump , after market rad, cooling flush first

Just looking for every little thing to help. Running about 195-210f right now on a week that days are mid to high 90's and humidity is about as high as you can get. If I can get it down to 180-190 I will be happy. This is on a fresh rebuild, so no flush is needed. I have only bled it once, so am bleeding it a few more times tonight and moching up some ducting work. If this doesn't work I am stepping up to 12'' fans.

I was just curious about which is working better for people. A scoop design duct on the bottom pulling the air up towards the front of the radiator or completely blocking it off with a plate on the bottom and top allowing the moderate air flow that is passing through the front already to be directed into the radiator.

Dual core and stock clutched fan ftw if you can manage it. My temps don't see anything above 180* even on a 90*+ day.

alright. thanks for the input thus far. I have seen people have great results with the stock clutch fan. I will have to see if I can squize the clutch fan up front. Not sure if I am going to be able to, runnign stock R33 crossmember and have a koyo.

I use 1/2"foam weather stripping to get a complete seal of my radiator to the AC condenser. My 12" SPAL fans are mounted as pushers to the front of the AC condenser. If there is a gap between the radiator and fans, the air will not go through the core effectively. It will simply go around it. Ducting is extremely important for cooling system performance. What fans are you running right now? Anything less than FAL or SPAL and it is probably doomed to failure from the get-go.

Run a clutch fan. Even without the shorud mine runs cooler than with fal 220's. One of the best changes I ever did.

You running a stock rad? Did you cut/move your core support forward?
