Alright as far as my cooling question, I'm going to taking the ugly clutch fan and running the stock electric fan is that going to be enough? Or should I look into an aftermarket fan? As far as my speedometer question, when I got my motor and trans, the speed sensor on the transmission was and is pretty beat up, all my gauges work and my wiring was done by wiringspecialties.com, would that be why my speedometer doesn't work? If so can I buy the KA one and it will work? Thanks in advance!

You might get away with the stock fan, but For safety I would get another e-fan. A lot of people have had luck with the factory altima fans. If you track the car I wouldn't think twice about getting that extra cooling.

About the speedo: I would say the damaged speed sensor would have something to do with it. Start from there.

my 92 speedo works perfectly. the SOHC speedos do not work.

I would guess that since all the trans are the same(short of bell housings) that a KA speed sensor SHOULD work.

SOHC KA tach will not work, you must change to the DOHC tach. The speedo should work, unless the teeth on the gear is stripped. The KA speed sensor will not fit the CA transmission, but you just need to remove 1 circlip and remove the actual gear. Then put it on your CA sensor, good to go.

I'm about 90% sure the speed sensors are the same. The teeth might be different, but that would be it.

Yeah KA speedo sensor works in CA transmission

I'm using SOHC cluster with DOHC tach and SOHC speed sensor, everything works! Woohoo!

Hmm, thats odd because i tried swapping my SOHC speed sensor from my KA transmission into my CA transmission, and the sensor housing was too big and wouldnt fit into the hole. Maybe the DOHC speed sensor is different than the SOHC one?

I don't think they're different. In fact, Nissan has the same speed sensor listed for all 89-94 240SX's :

IIRC the CA one I pulled out looked exactly the same as the KA one except the little plastic gear was a different color

They're all the same, just different gears.

You did something wrong. Or maybe the O-ring swelled up?

Im telling you, it was larger by like 4-5mm. Not even close. The gears look interchangable, but not the whole sensor. Maybe its just mine.

The gear in the KA is orange/brownish in color, the CA is greenish. But the KA sensor did not even come close to fitting in my CA transmission.

But so far, even with the greenish CA speedo gear in the CA transmission, my speedometer seems to be correct. At least as far as puttering around town goes....
