I just bought a 1995 240sx base model. I was told that the A/C was removed for weight reduction. The car keeps overheating or at least the gauge needle goes past the "H" when the heat is off or very low. When I turn the heat up, press A/C button and send fan to 3 or 4 temp gauge goes back to "normal". On cold starts in the morning I sometimes have to give it a little gas to start. I think its only the thermostat, but not quite sure. The car has these other problems/flaws as well if anyone can help w/ those it will be greatly appreciated. By the way I did search for the cooling a lot but nothing seemed like mine.Driver's window does not operateDoor locks from outside do not operate well (pass. does not operate at all), from inside there are no probs. Wondering if I get alarm would there be probs or should I get shaved door handle kit?A dent in fender but I will be doing a conversion so i will leave that be

Mine was slightly overheating when it was hot + AC was on and I was going slow..

I changed the prestone, and noticed that there was a piece of plastic missing around the fan...so I filled the hole with a piece of sheet metal and glued it properly in place so it wouldn't hit the fan.. and now the fan pulls air from the front and not from under.. it never went over half of the gauge again !

Make sure there is no trapped air in the cooling system. The KA does not like to stay cool when the coolant is not fully serviced I had the same thing happen to me in my old 95. You can squeeze the inlet line(top radiator line) and shake the snot out of the car while you fill the radiator until it gets full if that doesn't work start with the thermostat, water pump, lines, flush system and all that good mess.

I have helped out with this problem for many other S14 owners. The the first thing to get overlooked is the radiator cap, REPLACE IT!
