No joke, its a Honda that comes stock with a 1.2l DOHC turbocharged 4 cylinder engine. Its got 8.5 CR ratio, forged pistons and rods, oil squirters, everything.

Whats this awesome little powerplant in? A two seater personal watercraft weighing about 700 pounds. HOLY SHHH!! How fun would that sucker be?

With the level of performance people get out of Honda engines that weren't even meant to be turbo in the first place, imagine running some race gas and a boost controller in that thing. If thats not enough, maybe upgrade the turbo somehow.

If you lived to tell about it, you could tell one mean speed story.

I *think* SeeDoo does the Supercharged jetski and it's even faster than the Honda one.

too bad it can only do 60-65mph. if i'm not mistaken, jet-skis sold to the public such as that one are regulated by law to only go that fast... i never knew it myself 'till recently. kinda sucks :(

jetskis suck, they are fun for a few weeks then they get old, u cant do anything with them like fishing, or cruzing all day with the family.. they are kinda worthless.. i like to have friends that own one, but i would never own one.. plus about a year ago i was on my friends jetski and a boat ran into us at full speed (we did nothing wrong, we were keeping the 300 foot distance, but there were kids driving the boat and they lookin at what they were doing) so anyways we got hit, i was on the back right where this 20 foot boat hit.. i got flug a good 20 feet and got nocked out, the ppl in the boat ran and the jetski was broke, so we had to swim about an hour to shore then had to walk to a house and called my friends parents, little did i know my leg was broke.. anyways the parents picked us up and starting yelling at us asif it was our fault.. anyways, i havnt been on a jetski sense.. damn things are dangrus.. no one looks out for ya..

i was one a 3 person Ski-doo by myself, i got up to about 55 (the electric speedo said 68 but i highly doubt it) and it started drizzling, the waterdroplets felt like nails in my face.

The jetski alone is kindof limited, best to rent. But my favorite watercraft is the double jetski boat. You got your boat for all that boat stuff, then you can pop out dual jetski.

As for the maximum speed thing, im sure you could remedy that with a little effort. Maybe not so easy as getting rid of the 115mph limit on an american S13, but i bet it could be done.

Change the propeller (or whatever they use to drive) install an SDS system, increase the injector size, upgrade the turbo, its allready got forged internals. i bet it would take 20lbs of boost all day long properly tuned. If you fixed the gearing/speed limiter thing i bet it could go so fast you would piss your swim trunks. But nobody will notice, so piss away.

Oh and if Seadoo does have SC craft that IS faster, its reliability would be in the crapper. We all know a turbo beats a SC on efficiency. So a Honda turbo craft at 13psi is gonna rape a SC craft at 13 psi. So they run more boost, put more strain on the engine, use more gas. Turbo is just reliable, compared to SC anyway. From what i've seen, that Honda is built to be dang reliable, have awesome handling, and have good emissions. If the seadoo does beat it speedwise, it'd be like an old american musclecar beating a new S2000 down the track, yeah its faster but it cant really take turns and its smoking all the way down the track and burning mad amounts of gasoline.

You obviously haven't read up on the SeaDoos..(I'm a seadoo owner myself, and would love to have a GTX-4tec (the supercharged seadoo)). Just plain wow. It can keep up easily with the XP (their top of the line sport pwc).

Doing some reading on the Seadoo. Their most powerful is the RXP, supercharged with 215hp. 1.5l 3 cylinder rotax engine. Yeah and thats a SOHC motor too. Who the heck would want a SOHC engine in a personal watercraft?

For my money (if i had any) i'd go with a Honda DOHC 4 cylinder. Think long term reliability here. If you took care of that Honda craft it could last you practically forever. Honda powersports stuff is way good, they make bland cars but their bikes and stuff are awesome. My 1983 XL600R still starts in one kick, that engine is immortal.

Sure the seadoo will have better low end power, but theres not that much low end power you can really put to the ground, so to speak, in the water.

Supercharged vs turbo, and 200 more CCs mean a lot more gas used up, and its a slightly smaller gas tank too.

Besides, who wants to hear a supercharger whine all day.

who cares what it sounds like or how much gas it uses? When your going fast enough that everytime you touch down it feels like you are landing on concrete, your having fun and thats all that matters : )

I care how much gas it uses when im in the middle of Utah Lake and my gauge reads empty, But im having the time of my life and dont really wanna pack it all up and go home yet. Gassing a wave runner is a pain. You gotta have a stockpile of 5 gallon gas cans or you trailer them to a gas station and fill them like you would a car. If they had an on the water gas pump place that would be awesome, but i dont think i've seen any around here.

Not to mention, if a 'craft sucks a ton of gas, thats just more money you gotta spend.

I happen to find supercharger whine quit soothing, well samething with turbo, hell even a N/A motor's sound is soothing, unless it's not running right:(

my car running on 4 cylinders was one of the saddest sounds ever, on par with a whale song after a fellow whale died:(

i think there is a problem with drag or somthing, it limits the jetski to how fast they can go.. because it has to beable to suck water up into the impeller, and if u go to fast it will just start skipping across the water.. atleast i think i read somthing like that a while back..

If your trying to tell me they are not fun you obviously don't know how to drive it right. I love my Sea Doo XP (Seadoo is the watercraft maker Skidoo dose snowmobiles).

90% of it depends on if you have sombody to ride with though, or a nice bouey course to carve through (just like a motorcycle, it's boring if you don't push it). Besides every woman you pick up on while driving it is wearing a bikini.... it dosn't get any better than that.

And as for the 60mph thing.... we all know how well it worked out when Nissan and Toyota decided 280bhp was enough.... or when the German automakers thought 155 was as fast as anybody should go.
