i searched and came up with this, and qoute from ilikemy240sx

"If Im not mistaken, there should be two sensors on the water neck connected to the lower rad hose. One is a temp switch for your gauge the other (bigger) is the water temp sensor that your ECU uses.

Water temp sensor for ECU is the same as SE-R

Water temp switch for your gauge is your car dependant. so if your car is 96 240sx get one for 96 240sx."

so is this true? the bigger sensor that runs to the ecu can work from an se-r?

The two wire sensor is the one that goes to the ECU so I suppose you could call it bigger than the single wire cluster sensor.
