coolant temp sensor

There are two sensors right by the coolant outlet, one red and one black, which one is the CTS, and what is the other one?

car year and model must be in subject line.

one sensor is for instrument panel temperature gauge and one sensor is to send information to ecu. ill see if i have a pic because i forgot.

This is for 1991-1994 240sx. You could also pull the plugs and see which one causes instument panel temp gauge to go to zero.

I believe the red one is the CTS; it also should be larger then the other one. There's two wires going to it.

the one on the right is for the gauge, the one on the left is for the ecu.

Yep, that is right, the big red one goes to the ECM and the small black goes to the gauge, thanks
