so i have a 95 s14, for the past ~8months or so, the temp gauge would shoot down about 1/3 of the way when revs exceeded ~3500 or so, maybe lower... which was fine, because i was always able to confirm the temp over bikirom, or consult... now it has completely stopped working all together, and the needle is on "C" and wont move... is this a common problem, is there a common solution... how would one suggest i fix this?

it's most likely the coolant temp sending unit, the one with the single wire.the one with the 2 wires next to it is the coolant temp sensor for the ecu, that's not the one for the gauge.the riveted blade connector always comes loose, solder or try and lightly hammer the rivet snug again. replace it with a new one if you don't want to attempt fixing it or deal with problems if the fix doesn't last.
