Coolant

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

How often should you be filling the coolant tank on the EX35?....seems this coolant tank is often empty quickly.
Any info is appreciated.

You shouldn't be refilling the coolant overflow tank or radiator at all, as the cooling system is supposed to be sealed. Your EX definitely has a leak somewhere if you have to keep topping off the coolant.

Yeah, sometimes these slow leaks are hard to find. Actually, be happy that the leak is slow; at least it gives you a bit of time to plan out a repair and you have a smaller chance of your car breaking down mid-drive.

There are a couple of things you can try to help find the source of the leak: a pressure test of the cooling system, or putting in a coolant dye in the system. The dye appears under UV light, so you'd need to shine a UV blacklight around the cooling system for the dye to show itself.

You are absolutely correct..I notice that there is liquid present when I'm starting up the car especially when its cold..will investigate where its coming from. Thanks much.

$1300 for a radiator? I think that's too pricey.
