I'm thinking of tapping my coolant line in between the motor and heater. Does this sound like a good spot to tap?

I think coolant constantly circulates through the heater doesn't it?

Ignore the red circle.

The heater lines are typical. Making a "T" fitting for them can be pain if you don't have good hardware stores around. Go online and buy 2 of them (5/8" if I remember correctly???)

5/8" x 3/8" x 5/8" 2653K98 or1/2" x 5/16" x 1/2" 2653K97

Why not just use the TB fee and return lines. They are much easier. I bypassed my TB coolant lines and have the feed in a loop right now but at any given time I can use them for a feed and return. Easier to deal with in my opinion than the heater hose lines.

That's my other thought. The only thing is, the TB lines are quite small compared to the heater hose and don't look like there would be a lot of flow.

You don't need alot of flow at all. The lines of a naturally forced unducted car like the 180 or Skyline use very small water lines.

So you think the TB line is the one to use?

I wonder if a long copper or aluminum line might even help draw off a little more heat before reaching the turbo.

Yeah dude, I'd try that out for sure. The aluminum line will look badass polished, so would brass or copper for that matter.

You do know we're talking about water lines and not oil lines right?? Big difference.

What ever what you do it I wouldn't mind seeing some pics of the completed setup. I'll be doing my turbo install over the winter and was wondering about the coolant lines as well.

I'm even thinking of a small trans cooler or a copper coil.

Hay, not trying to be a **** but I think Greg frowns upon huge pictures in your sig line these days. Cool pictures but a little big.
