Coolant lines are getting me mad

Hey everyone! I have an 89 240 that I just replaced the engine in. There is a little black box which bolts to the timing cover with a hose for coolant to pass through. Where does the other end of the hose go? I'm ready to try and start this thing up.

Fsm is no help. I'm using an iPod for Internet access so I can't do photos. It's removed in the garage section under the timing chain replacement for the single cam ka. Also if anyone with an unmodified single cam wants to come over and let me use their car as a reference for the vac lines I would get you drunk. Or high. Or whatever. I'm in Nashville by the way.
