Has anyone had to fix the coolant line on the back of the engine along the fire wall? It's kinda s-shaped. Is there a secret to doing this?

Also does anyone have the correct part number for the replacement.

Thanks in advance.

are you talking about the heater hose? coolant runs through that.. if so.. they make "heater hose repair kits" at advanced auto zone and stuff. its like 4$

it's about the diameter of heater hose, the clamps are awful.

yep, those back of the manifold/head hoses are really hard to get to with the motor in the car... (CHANGE THE HOSES BEFORE YOU SWAP!!! lol)

but IIRC you have an importedl silvia right? Anyways, no USDM car will use the same hoses back there (pulsar fwd CA18DE aren't the same) so just pull off the busted one and take it to the autoparts store and have them match it to something. They'll most likely give you a piece of straight hose the right diameter and you can cut it to size and bend it to fit in there.

I had a small under the manifold coolant hose burst on me the other day, and it was hell replacing it... Just keep at it! Those hose clamps suck.

I recently had to replace these two coolant lines running into the firewall(goes into heater core right?)

Took just about for-ev-er to take off the damn hoses. Just make sure all the clamps are off before you start tugging I just got universal heater hose from Kragen's and plugged it in.Also, get new clamps.. forgot what they're called, but get the kind that most people use to clamp down their couplings for thier fmic's.

yep, and you may need to get some of the plastic elbows if your line is S shaped, otherwise it may kink.I use wire cutters when I have to remove those old clamps, and I try and replace them with the kind above (although that one doesn't have a lining and is bad for your hoses... it weakens the rubber where it squeezes through the grooves).
