Figure this might get better replies in the technical section. I've got a small puncture in one of my radiator hoses and its really hard to get to. It's only about 1" in diameter. Replacing the hose would involve removing the intake manifold and then pulling the engine I think. Wondering if there is any sort of sealant or some kind of plug to stop the leak. It doesn't leak while driving, but does when I turn the car off. Sometimes it sprays out pretty bad. LMK, thanks...

I say you should take the time to replace the hose...it's not as hard as you make it sound

Once you have one leak in a hose it's bound to sprout others...even after you replace that hose keep an eye on the other because it may start leaking if it's in the same shape/age

I had to replace both radiator hoses within the first month i owned my 240...it wasn't really that hard either

First of all, which radiator hose are you talking about?

And I really don't think you have to pull the manifold to get to the hose. But, I've never done it....

it's a very tight fit...but i'm almost postive you don't have to take off the manifold too

only thing you have to worry about taking off is the intake piping if it's the upper hose

its not one of the main hoses. its a small one not directly connected to the radiator about 1" in diameter(the hose, not the puncture, lol :P) underneath practically everything. I tried removing the intake piping and p/s pump, but still couldn't get at it because it is under what I think is the intake manifold.

agreed, gonna be a PITA; as a former service writer for peps, part is cheap, labor would be about $64... better luck w/ a local garage if u don't wanna fudge w/ this thing
