so as soon as I remove the radiator cap my coolant starts leaking from the bottome of the car. I went down their today and could not find exactly where the leak was coming from, however, I am almost positive that is is not from the thermostat housing. ANy ideas? Help? Guidance?

THanks in advance!

I think I might have found it. Does the water pump have like a nipple that allowes you to drain the coolant?

or am I missing screws or am I screwed?

could this be an expected result from not bleeding the lines?

ok, so:

I changed the thermostatI changed the water pump

no more leaks, however, now the water reservoir boils over and it gets extremely hot in a matter of seconds.

yeah, it can be hard to get the air out if you pour the coolant in fast. you have to park on hill and run engine with cap off.

I think I am good. I think it was a combination of bad water pump and then after that not bleeding the system correctly.

Thanks for all your help!

how does correctly bleeding the system fix the leaking problem?Last night I just replaced my thermostat (to find out there wasn't one in there in the first place) and now my car overheats really fast but the temp with fall shortly. I heard this is a problem from not getting all the air out.But I also have a leak and its coming out like crazy whenever the car is on. Its none of the hoses and I can't tell where it's coming from. I'm going to try and get all the air out after work but I just now tried and bubbles keep coming up, how long does it normally take to bleed the system?

Also, my heater used to work awesome without the thermostat, but now it only blows moderatly warm air with the new thermostat in. could this also be becase the air in the system?

Thanks for any help.
