So at this point, it sounds like no matter what you do, you'll be removing the lower intake manifold. At which point, it will be very obvious what you have to replace.
Removing the intake manifold isn't too difficult of a job. But it can be time consuming. The complete instructions are in the Haynes manual if you feel like getting a little greasy. Otherwise, find a good mechanic.
