I have found a coolant leak at the bottom of my engine onmy J30. The leak appears just forward of the oil pan but aft ofthe main pully in a crease. Anybody ever had a coolant leakfrom this area? Is there a seal in this area.

I am taking it to a garage to have him take a look at it. If its a water pump job then its 600 dollars I can get it fix. If its a probleminvolving major engine work then I will just trade it in the hell withit. Thanks for your response.

water pump is an easy diy, get the part on ebay for 50 bucks. Plan to take three hours if you know absolutely nothing about cars.....Do worry about it being anything major unless you let your ride overheat. I mean, its an infiniti, not a Kia. oops, but an easier fix than the water pump!

You are just kidding, right ? I'm 90% sure that the timing belt has to come out before the water pump. Are you saying you can do a timing belt and water pump on a infiniti J30 in 3 hours?? I can't . For some first timer, my advice is, do lot of research before you take the first bolt out, and plan to have at least 6 hours on your hand when you want to do it right.my 2 cents.
