bought a 240 But the guy I bought it from a 17 year old and now I regret it a bit. Ive had to redo all the power steering. Had to run a few missing vacuum lines. And Now A Coolant hose busted right under the intake manifold. I've never taken off a mani. Now the fun begins I guess??! :gotme

Question is if i want to replace all the coolant lines what should I use??? Where do I get all the OEM Coolant lines because I replaced this same Coolant line without taking off the manifold with A regular hose I got from AutoZone. The ones you get by the foot. Was that wrong??? Its the line that runs from the front back then up and back to the front again. BTW its a KA24DE.

BTW. When the car ran hot and my A**hole Stock temp gauge all at once jumped straight up. So I popped the hood and my radiator was cold. but steam was coming out from behind the intake far back. SO im really not sure what happen?? Is my water pump stopped up?? cant find the bust but I checked the compression all around was 142-146 still good. After 2 overheats in 1 month.

Most of the hoses under the IM will match up to the ones at AZ. On my SR i took off all of the hoses and got the guys to let me behind the counter and match them up.I had to get 2 cut but the foot but they were 1-2" lone. Never done it on a KA before but cant be too different.

My main concern was the curves in the oem hoses. But I cant find anything online so it must not be too important. I decided to Take it to this shop I found that specializes in import tuners. Hopefully they do good. Im going to have them replace all the hoses and oil lines. And change trans and engine oil. Hopefully they don't charge me out the a**...

People just don't understand!! I don't wipe my a** with cash every time I go to the bathroom!!!

But anyways, does anybody have any Idea why the radiator would be cool when the engine overheated??

Thermostat stuck closed is the typical cause I believe. No coolant is allowed to leave the engine. Pull it out and see if it opens when you stick it in a pot of near boiling water.

No not a sensor. The thermostat is valve that opens when your car reaches operating temperature to allow coolant flow. It's located where the lower radiator hose connects to the engine block.
Download the factory service manual for pictures and a description of how to take it out. It's pretty easy.

Thanks man!! Went and changed the Thermostat and my cars running alright. But im pretty sure I stressed a coolant line somewhere. SO Im going to change everything. Decided to send it to a shop near me, turns out all the guys up there drift 240's. I'm having the change oil lines, coolant lines, transmission and engine fluid. Got to pay to play. After that ill probably be doing my own upgrades at my own pace.

just archiving what happen.

Bought new Isis thermostat from ebay. $50.00
~opens up at 60*c instead of the OEM 74*c i think. Nismo opens up at 62*c and it was like 75$... I've had good experience so far with isis products tho.

took 20min to install. Very easy. Flushed the cooling system. Took the outlet off where the lower radiator hose connects to the block.(4x10mm nuts) And there was the Thermostat. pulled it out. put new one in. replaced gasket and bolted the outlet back.
