So I forget which thread I was reading, but I told someone to check their coolant. I took my own advice yesterday when I was tinkering in my garage...

I dipped a few q-tips into the coolant to inspect, and voila, little black bits are floating around. Is this the coolant hoses wearing down, or should I start breaking stuff because my head gasket is going to crap?

There are zero issues with smoke or temp so I think it's the hoses, but I figured I'd run it by NICO. Thanks for your help!

Thats a little weird. I've seen your car in plenty of pictures though and it looks great btw. I would try flushing the coolant and definatly replacing those hoses if they don't look good. Good luck.

Thanks

I'm going to do a flush here soon, and replace the hoses... so I guess we'll see what happens lol.

Hah, mine has TONS of little black crap floating around in the overflow tank. It's probably the hoses breaking down a bit, but you really shouldn't be worried unless its so much that you would think it would do harm, you are most likely always going to have a little bit floating around.
