I been using the search button here there, everywhere to figure out how to do a Coolant Flush. I'm guessing I now know how to do it by using this post coolant-flush-any-nico-diy-t489375.html which he made sure he did it on a 3.5 although I'm sure it's the same on a 2.5.. What I don't know is how much anti-freeze do I need to buy?? Someone said the tank takes 2 gallons. Another person said do not mix the Genuine Nissan Anti-freeze with water...so does that mean I have to buy 2 gallons worth of that expensive coolant?!? And if I don't want to use Nissan's coolant, I can use an "equivalent" which some suggested Prestone. That's the ONLY answer with the limited posts I found.. WHICH Prestone?? Extended Life, 50/50 extended life? 1 guy said use Prestone Dex-cool version, yet another guy says it'll corrode..and if I buy the Prestone, will I still have to buy 2 gallons worth? Or can I do the Water + AntiFreeze thing? <-- This part confuses me too, is the 50/50 MEANS there are 50% coolant and 50% water WITHIN the bottle?? That's what another post said  Which means I would still have to buy two 2 gallon bottles IF it really is a 2 gallon tank....a lot of posters like to argue with each other..

I never wanted to be the dummy and post a question because some people would always come in and literally JUST say "use the search button," no helpful links to guide the beginners..NOTHING or just asking "why?" :squint: and/or saying if you're asking all those questions, just bring it to the shop..!!! I've done just about "mostly" everything to a vehicle, engine drop, bodywork, paint, blah blah, even a coolant flush, but honestly, I don't remember anything about it lol..
I have spent weeks on all these searches and I'm finally tired and I want to cry  because I always worked on old cars and since this car is higher in tech, I wanted to make sure I'm doing it perfectly. Just did my engine oil change yesterday, although ordered my 12 quarts NS-2 Oil to flush my transmission, 1 extra just in case. Ordered my in-cabin air filter today, which I have never changed since I gotten the car @ August of 07  Put a smile on my face and help me with my questions please

If anyone else is wanting to buy NS-2 oil, this site is the cheapest I could find
http://www.thenismoshop.com/Nissan-Fact ... p_896.html
The drop down quantity gives the option of buying a case of 12 for cheaper. Hmm, I guess the price rose a bit after I bought my case, the price was 139 when I had bought it, but beware, shipping is out of this world :frown: I guess they decide by weight since their genuine Nissan coolant has like a 30-40 dollar shipping charge on such a low price! Yes, this website is legit, they are just a Nissan Dealership located in West Covina, California and many other forums has them on their front page as a reference to parts such as a g35 and a 370z forum that many uses. If you live nearby, prices should still be the same as the website but without the SHIPPING COST! Wish I lived nearby.
Thanks for taking your time to read this extra long post :chuckle: I also had to vent a little. My vehicle is a 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe CVT 2.5 by the way so that it can be tagged in google for others to search if this question does get answered. Posted on February 01, 2012!

Your 2008 AC 2.5 takes 2 gallons of coolant total. You can purchase two gallon jugs of pre-mixed Nissan blue long-life coolant, part # 999MP – LP25500P for the flush (see this post).

Thanks for that link for the NS-2 CVT fluid. My mother has an '07 Altima, which is approaching 100k and a flush of its transmission would be prudent. Though shipping might be exorbitant as you say.

Thanks, and No problem. I checked the site again and I'm an idiot..I could have gotten shipping a bit cheaper  I thought USPS was the only option lol..didn't know the UPS "Display Rates" was clickable but oh well, the price still beats anywhere else. I was afraid that it was gonna take 2 gallons, more money out the pocket! But I always have to get the best for my baby :poke:
