So today, I pulled my radiator to flush and clean out a bunch of rust that has been building up in, and around the radiator itself. i flushed it with clean water on all inlets, and removed the radiator housing to clean it up also. Im replacing the radiator lines too. So far after flushing it looks like all the rust is gone from the radiator, I think i might run it to a shop to check it out while its out.

Question is, how do I flush the coolant from the engine itself? Some of the old gunky coolant is still stuck in the engine block. Id like to get that out while the radiator is out and putting new coolant in.

I see on the maunal, there are drainplugs that are on the cylinder block itself to do it.

I assume these are underneath the car since I see there is one by the oil filter? can someone post a picture showing where these are?

On past vehicles I would put the garden hose in the upper radiator or lower radiator inlet and it would cycle through. I tried this today and ended up wet. :wtf2: Id like to run water thru one of the inlets and cycle it through while the motor is running, to flush all the old coolant out. Is this possible to do without water going everywhere?

to propperly fluch the system you do ti wiht the ardiator in and the car running, otherwise you strip the block bare and get some bruches and picks and get to work (never ever ever use hg sealer bars leak ro similar garbage, it's a real pain to clean taht garbage otu fo an engine later)

evil can you elaborate on this so I can do this once i get the car running again? I pull the drainstop on the bottom of the radiator when doing this correct? with the car running, heat on high?

This is after I warm the car up to normal operating temp?

no, if you go to a parts store and look for cooling system fluch that comes wiht hose adapters it will have instructions, basically you cut a heater hose and place the adapter inline, in the case of the z32 you'll need a lenght of hose to loop the adapter in without cutting the stock hose
