So my 93 hatch is leaking coolant from where the transmission bolts up to the engine... not sure if theres a hose or plug above that which could be dripping. Has anyone else had this problem? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzjb8DS8IdA

Have you checked the heater core hoses?

from what it looks like to me that is most likely where its coming from

and is it leaking after the system is pressurized or all the time???

2 possibilities - the heater core hoses that run from the intake manifold area to the firewall, or you have an externally leaking head gasket from the back side of the head, and its dripping down.

If its a external leaking HG then there would not be coolant leaking in to the cylinders or at least enough to cause it to smoke out the exhaust

but i would way check the coolant hoses leading to the firewall(heater core lines) first

its better to start with the easy/cheaper fix first

no not entirely if you pressurize the system and look around the intake manifold you should be able to see where its leaking from
but to replace the line it is recommended to take the manifold off due to it actually being easier to replace the line, yet you still can do it with the intake maifold on but i hear running the line properly is a b***h

also i would recommend getting or renting a cooling system pressure tester to test the system
its easier and nicer to the motor

Thanks for the suggestions! I took of the upper half of the intake manifold and replaced all those lines that run through there. It ended up being the heater core line like you mentioned.

:bigthumb: :dblthumb: Nice and good Job getting it done
My buddy had it happen to his S13 so it was my first thought
And he never wanted to do it cause it involved taking the manifold off
he ended up having a buddy do it for him
