My son and I are deleting the coolant hoses on the bottom of the intake manifold on his 96 na. What is everyone actually using as caps?

Also what is everyone using to cap off the egr pipes. We are NOT removing the egr valve as I don't believe we will actually be able to physically remove it with engine in car. I got the block off kit and have cut the egr pipes back but need something to cap them off.

any thoughts on either?

for the coolant pipes I'm worried about cheap rubber caps handling the heat

When I bypassed my na motor I looped the two ends together with a heavy duty silicone hose with a tight fitting restrictor inside.

EGR tubes I just crimped the ends as it’s not operable without a vac line attached. You can remove the EGR next time you have the trans out for a clutch job.

why the restrictor for coolant hoses?
How many pipes need to be looped? is it 2 on each side. This engine bay is a nightmare

14:00 pass side and 15:20 driver side.

I used restrictors in mine because I didn’t want to decrease the coolant flow to the heater core. I need heat up here in Canada.
You probably don’t need it.

Here is a tip for the coolant passthrough fittings that you say drill out. They can be tapped out with a hammer.

Thanks a lot for the video link. That helps a lot. We have looked at several diagrams and it is so hard to tell what is what. Yours being a '96 was also a help. Waiting on new PCV valves to come in, tomorrow, then we can get this beast back together. This was all to change injectors. What a pita. CHanging injectors was trying to figure out a running/idling issue.

Not me/not my vid. Hard lines under the plenum are coolant and smaller are vac line.
Glad it helped you out.
Cheers

In the video he did away with all the pipes under the manifold. Where did those vacuum lines go to

The pass side would have been the EGR to the solenoid; Driver side would be vac line from the balance tube to the carbon canister
