I have a 91 240sx with a t25, built bottom and top end. Just got the motor done, and the person who helped me install said my oil seals for the turbo needed to be replaced and it would prolly smoke a little bit... but would be ok for a few months.... I was hesitant about taking the car. On my 3rd time driving it, my car started smoking from the engine bay on the way home. I pulled over and noticed a huge puddle of oil under my engine.. and the coolant was boiling forever. Checked my oil and it was gone. I'm thinking my turbo seal went. I had the car towed home... filled up the oil to see if it would be leaking from anywhere. I didnt notice it leaking and tried to start it up. the car won't turn... Is my motor toast now? Any suggestions?

grab a breaker bar and see if you can manually turn the crank..engine might be seized or somethin, no way to tell till you check it out personally.

boiling coolant is caused by air in the system... unbled or head gasket.

No oil, well it could have been lost through the turbo and burned away, or a head gasket leak, but it would have leaked into the combustion chamber and burnt away, or mixed with the coolant.

If you went to no oil, smoke, and lost coolant that engine was really heated. I would say there is bearing damage, and possibly warped head and deck.

Was the exhaust really smokey? If so what color?

It could have been a bad head gasket seal, or you could have burnt your oil via the turbo, went low, then blew the head gasket inducing air into the coolant system. But you should have heard the motor getting loud and an oil lamp.

exhast has been smokey since I got it back.. was a white color. When the incident happened, no warning lights came on... until after I pulled over. Then the oil light came on. I pulled over because a crazy amount of smoke came from my engine which was my coolant evaporating. Checked my oil and it was empty... my car had left a trail of oil on the ground, was kind of too dark to pinpoint. My engine didn't make any type of knocking sounds. I filled up oil and tried to start it up, and it wouldn't turn on.

The whole engine is practically new... I was just hoping there was some kind of miracle that could bring it back to at least turn on..... either way it's going to have to be taken apart... I guess.

your really not goin to hear any knock while the motor is cranking..as for damaged bearings...ummmm idk im sure there was lil bit of oil left but its hit or miss.I mean lil like less than half a quart..lol

also check your spark plugs see that they look like...oily or rusty from coolant or w.e.

good luck man

White exhaust smoke... not oil burning white is tell tail sign sign of coolant. Sounds like your head gasket was blown or not installed correctly. Sounds you got air in the coolant system and it started boiling, due to the heat at the head it probably warped and the oil probably leaked out, or got into the CC and burnt off.

Sounds like your gonna have to tear it down.

Wow. That sucks. I honestly have $5 on a melted piston. No oil and boiling coolant followed by a locked motor? I am so sorry man, but it sounds like you got a lemon.

When we cranked the motor it was stiff.... got it to start up. And we have a knock... sounds like a bearing. Going to have to find out to be sure. My turbo is shooting oil like crazy.
