Ok so i have a ka24de in my daily with a koyo aluminum radiator and its been right of the middle of the temp gauge. So i popped the rad cap and saw it was a lil low on coolant. I refilled it and temp still in the middle. I then noticed a hole in my coolant catch resivour. I drove it to the car wash and could smell burning coolant and popped the hood. Saw the coolant boiling in the coolant resivour. Motor cooled down and back to normal. Filled again and watched for oil in coolant or bubbles in coolant. Nada! Any suggestions are welcome. Wtf can i do? btw using 50/50 green coolant mix.

also try replacing your rad cap, that can cause over heating. if that doesnt do it replace your thermostat. how old is your radiator? id also flush it out. all in all id still get a compression test just to make sure.... but thats just me

found corrosion/pitted aluminum on inside of raditor fill neck. Has a hole. Patched it up with a hard epoxy resin. Got a new cap a few days ago. 13psi. btw this is a koyo 2 core rad. Using stock clutch fan. Also noticed my coolant catch tank has a hole. Very brittle. no Tstat installed.

according to the stock temp gauge. No. But if it boiled out and was still cooking. I assume it would qualify as an overheat.
