So, I am new to this site and just bought my 07 Blk Base. Since I have bought the car every has asked what made my buy a Z. My current car, an 02 Maxima was perfectly fine. So her it is and I thought you guys might enjoy it. In 1982, when I was 6 my uncle bought a brand new car, a 280ZX two tone blue. It sounds ungly now but man was it beautifull then. Plus it had all these options that were amazing to me. Power windows, cruise control, a talking woman if your light were on or if your door was open or if you were running low on gas. Then he took me and my dad out for a ride. Well, it was a two seater so I was on my dads lap. Not exactly safe considering the way my uncle was driving. So that was it I was obsessed with Z's. 11 years later when I got my license I spent my life savings, 2,800, and bought a 82 280ZX (maroon). Sweet ride, but not exactly the car for a 17 year old. I should probably be dead the way I was driving. Well, unfortunitly, I was the wrong person for that car. She needed some TLC not someone driving like the way I was at 17. Took me about a year to beat the crap out of her and had no money to fix her up. So sold her:( Had a 85 Maxima, a 92 Cougar, a 88 Lincoln LSC (my second love), another Maxima 98, and yet another Maxima 02. Then it hit me, I could afford (well kind of) a new Z. Looked as some used ones 03 and 04, but then I looked at an 07. There was no stopping me then, money, what ever. The new hood, the rims, oh baby. So here I am 25 years later after my uncle took me for a ride in his 280ZX... A proud 350Z owner. Here she is. Pics of my 280 to follow.

nice, the Z has a way of infecting people, I gotta wait for the Z33 to get cheap enough to buy one but they are tempting, for now I have to stick to the older models

A few years ago, my husband and I were out shopping when a 350Z Roadster caught my attention. It was a side view of it parked with the top down. I believe this was my first sighting of a Roadster and did not recognize it to be a 350Z. I was smitten! My husband, suggested we go look at these cars after leaving the mall. We bought an '04 Enthusiast Roadster. Last month on May 5, we traded the '04 for an '07 Touring Roadster. Some will say the wind noise is too much. We did not buy these cars for a quiet ride, we have Cadilac for that. Nor, did we buy for them for hauling, our Toyota Tundra takes care the big stuff. The other 2 vehichles can not match the experience of riding with the top down. Editguy29, hope you have many fun and safe miles in your 350Z.

Congrats on your new Z. I share a similiar story to yours. When I was 16 my dad bought a 1988 silver 300ZX with the t-tops. This was the first new car he had ever bought and he spent 8 hours at the dealership negotiating the price until the sales manager and my dad got under the table (literally) and worked out a price. I got to drive home with him in the new Z while my sister and mom took our old 79 olds. I spent the next couple of years begging him to drive the car and when he said no I would wait for him to go out of town on business and then take the car out for a joy ride. I thought he would never find out until our neighbor saw me driving backwards down our street trying to take the miles off of it. Lesson learned -driving backwards does not take miles off the car. Dad finally let me take the car for my Senior prom. I am now married and have a 1 year old little girl. My wife let me get my dream car this past April. I picked up my 07 San Marino Blue Pearl Touring Z and have loved every mile on it. All the memories of sneaking my Dad's Z out of the garage come flooding back. And yes I do let my Dad drive it from time to time.

haha these are quite amusing stories..the 350Z is a nice car and maybe someday I will be the proud owner of one, but as for now I'm with evildky.. the 300zx is my baby.. however a Z car is a Z car!
