Yes, LS1. Or perhaps LS6, can't tell from here, probably not though.

I never really understood the whole idea of dumping big domestic V8's into older Z's.

Now, an LS1-->FD3S swap I can understand, because there you have a truly phenomenal chassis with an engine that, while awesome, is something of a headache. The LS1 solves this problem.

But with an older Z....the engines are great, why not just swap in an L28ET, you can make the same power as that LS1 for much cheaper. I just don't get it, of all the cars to put an LS1 in....why a Z?

I own a shop, Central Imprt Customs, and so far we have swapped an Ls1 into a 93 FD, 87 FC, 77 280, and a 95 240sx. i dont think its blasphemy. i think its trading a crappy motor for somthing with Torque. i like torque.

haha crappy motor. How is the 13b out of a 93 rx7 a crappy motor?

you'd think somebody who owned a shop would know something.....nah, that would make too much sense.

Pathetic

cause it's a rotard! it's got no pistons! and no valves! it's like a magic power barrel when it works, the thing about the rotors is they do not tend to have long lives when modified, I know there are devoted rotard followers but most of them have rebuilt their rotary motors 3 times in the past coupla years, I always liked the RX7's but I don't want to learn to rebuild and port a rotary

The LS6 isn't that bad, it's relatively lightweight for its size (390lbs). If it was a K20, Now that would be blasphemy.

Hes just like all the other domestic idiots that were raised in the sticks and dont understand anything but big, simple v8's. I have many friends that are huge on domestics and if you were to tell them that they were about to race a s14 with a rb26 setup, they would all be confused and have no idea whats up. YOU ALWAYS FEAR WHAT YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. The LS1 is an amaizing engine, but id take a rb25, rb26, 13b, 20b over it any day.

You've obviously NEVER worked on a rotary before. So leave your comments to yourself unless you have said knowledge...go back to watching your Initial D. LS1 swap is a great swap, dependable motor, tons of parts, what's not to like?

No, I'm about facts. We already determined that. At my previous house...there were 3 FC's, 2 FD's, and 1 20B FC, plus more of whatever model at any given time. My roomies were rotor heads..I was the lone Nissan guy with my Z32 and S13. I had no choice but to eat, sleep, breath premix. So I speak from fact, not assumption. If you have worked on rotaries and you think they are so awesome and apparently simple since it sounds easier to you to have one than an LS1 then I MUST reply that way. Almost any rotory guy will tell you. And depending how extreme you port it is what really governs the life of the motor. Stock they are a great motor and actually reliable...go to town on it and make sure to have 2 spare motors, several rotor housings, apex seals, etc. ready on the side...you'll need them. So if you do seriously have the ultimate rotary skillz then I seriously appologize and you NEED to open a kick *** rotary shop in the US..they are far too few.

They are far too few in the US. But the reason for that is people's lack of desire over here to learn about the motor and its amazing potential. Instead they opt to just swap in a V8 from a Chevy. Just something wrong to me about seeing a domestic motor stuffed into a well balanced japanese car. The amount of FC's, FD's, s30's, even Z31's and Z32's over here with poor swaps is depressing. People need to learn instead of taking the hillbilly approach ya know?
