FYI - The truck has 32" MT tires, 3" suspension lift and 3.92:1 Transfer case gears. far from stock...

the only problem with what they are doing is the sand. all that sand can get sucked in to the engine. the torsion rods and leaf springs can handle the landing and the engine and trans (if manual) is plenty strong enough for that stuff.

I was thinking about if they were in 4 wheel drive (i assume they are). The front half shafts are most likely the weak point. The CV's use a 3 bearing design and can bind... Also the tie-rods.

Here's a good shot of a guy landing on the flat...

I didn't find the xterra jumping videos but did find some VERY cool Nissan Trial videos.

They are big files from an Australia server but well worth the wait! Very cool stuff!

More Here!!!

Check out the RC vids too.

If the Xterra is setup like the Frontier.. I'd second TIE RODS

Just the other day my friend read about heavy duty ones, then the next day after that we went fourwheeling and bent one.. A 20 min drive to the spot took us like 3hrs to get back going like 5-10mph. (Going slow to save his tires, the toe was crazy off)

And I cant view that video, its in AVI, and thats the only format I can't view..
