^^lol something everyone has. obviously you didnt read the "rare" part of the Hippo Sleek tail lights. I rather buy "official" read:quality tail lights than hacking up stock tail lights or buying ebay tails and tryin to pass them off as "unique". ehh like you said though whatever works for me and trust that it gets the job done!!

Now tell me real quick what is the difference between the "quality" and ebay tail lights???Other than fitment there is nothing to discuss about. Both are pieces of plastic, made to look cool.It is not the turbo or any engine moving parts... As long as it fits - it is great. And it`s all about the looks.

I am just trying to make you understand one thing. The car has to be stylish. You have to show people that you have created something different, yet something that blends together.Otherwise you just are one of the guys who buys whatever they told you on the commercial that it`s cool, and not thinking about what is actually better for your car.

Now lets return to the main question.Nobody but Australia offers the kind of lights I was taking about before?

Wow dude, you're ignorant. You obviously have no concept of motorsport history or part longevity. With ebay lights you can expect scratched and hazy plastic with lots of swirls, and possibly some cracks or leaks, not to mention it's not legal due to the fact it's not DOT approved. Why are we commanded: "You have to show people that you have created something different, yet something that blends together". Dunno bout you but I work on my cars for myself, and I could give a damn what people think, they can think whatever they want while they're choking on my exhaust fumes and watching my STOCK tail lights get farther away. Keep that ish classic, Kouki or stock.

Hippo Sleek, Kouki (Nissan OEM Tails) VS. Ebay TailsPeak Boost, Full Race, Greddy,Turbo/Intake Manifold VS. Freddy manifold, SS AutochromeGarret Turbos VS. Anything you find on Ebay

Your right what was I thinking bleh, quality should always take back seat to that little voice (who doesnt pay for any of the "Quality Junk" i put on my car) to being different/unique/cheap (read:nothing new under the sun grasshopper). Please drop more knowledge on me about why we pay so much more for quality parts please.

are smoked tail lights illegal in virginia?

I'd like to know, because I want some but I'd rather not be ticketed for the rest of my life.

I really don't think there is a worse option than this. They are absolutely the ugliest tail light for the s13 available. And they look very cheap in person.

if you go to a hobby shop tayiama (sp) sells "rc car window tint" in a spray bottle, that works great for smoking tailights, be sure to clearcoat it afterwards tho!

Almost right. Yeah, that's Bushido's car with ebay Altezza lights. You can also get them where ever D Max products are sold, I believe. But Bushido didn't spray red paint on them. He uses translucent, red tinted vinyl...

Here's spray painted Altezza's...

Here's Bushido's with vinyl tint. Much better, don't you think?

I have these tails as well. But my plan is to vinyl tint the whole thing, Mighty Boy style...
Although now, I'd like to try this with the Hippo Sleek lights. I hope this was helpful.

The painted red tails are a 100% improvement over the clear. I would buy them, paint them red and reuse the factory center. Or if you cant reuse the factory center, then paint the center black and leave the reverse lights clear.

Don't use paint. It will look like a$$ compared to the transluscent red vinyl...

get on ebay and search, i just found a s*** load by searching "S13 lights" in EBAY MOTORS, not regular ebay. they have those nice red/clear ones for HBs on there tooo, im checkin them out myself.

check out user: brndck 's former hatch.... just some red opaque paint from a hobby store and ebay tail lights... or that vinyl s*** is available online all day.

also, why do ppl diss altezzas lights when a lot of major companies make similar styled lights? IE-DMAX... WTF is that about?

Paint looks good if you do it right... bake them and paint from the inside, its the only way to not make it fade and look s***ty pretty much

^^^Ooookay. The proof is in the pictures. One of these options takes a lot less effort and is proven to look better.

But seriously, do whatever you what. Hell, go get these...

They're only $2000 at clearcorners.com

The vinyl is definitely the easier option, I was just saying its not the only option. Most vinyl overlays are optically clear too no matter what color they are
