As a child of the 1980's I can remember all of the *****in' movies out of that era. This link is about the kickass '67 Camaro in "Better Off Dead" and what has happened to it since.

http://www.betteroffdeadcamaro...right

Unfortunately, there is no word on the current status of the French foreign exchange student. Any knowledge of this would be great.

That's awesome! Definately one of my top 10 movies of all time... as a matter of fact I watched it last night. Funny how that works, isn't it?

I always wondered what happened to that Camaro... and the French foreign exchange student too ;) Was she in any other movies?

Nah the 80s were actually cool. . being born in 1978 is something I'm proud of. . because my earliest memory was of 1980, and disco was over. . the 70s were cool in some regards, but mostly scare the bejeezus outta me.

80s were weird but cool. . Goonies > *

80's cars other than looks kinda sucked at times though, both in performance and reliability...

well, mainly domestic, but the BMW's were all messed up in the electrical department like a good deal of other makes I suppose

Trust me people, I was born in '71...there was nothing cool about the 70's. You would understand if your mother had ever dressed you in double-stich denim, and the other horrid fashions of the time.

Oh no, I have no regrets about missing out on the 70's.I thank my parents all the time for waiting a few years.

Yeah, that movie grew on me too. I didn't care for it when it came out, but I always find myself watching it whenever it's on tv and enjoying it.

I remember when the french babe was complaining with a heavy french accent that the dorky guy she was staying with kept touching her with his "testicles" And John Cusack calmly replied that she meant "tenticles". Lotsa funny stuff in that movie.

You know what else is cool about the 80's? The chicks with big hair and tight Jordache jeans. OH YEAH!!! :ylsuper

Cars got very cool in late 1985 when the Buick Grand National laid waste to everyone in the performance department.

GN indeed, rare example of a domestic 80's car that didn't suck in the performance area.

most of the turbo cars really weren't that bad though. Some stuff was just buggy with computers and what not.

or in the case of GM and Ford, really heavy doors that require new hinges to fix in most cases (my car included:()

Amen, brother. Also remember that the 240sx was introduced to the US in the 1989.

I was born in '76..so I don't remember much of the '70s....and what I do remember I wasn't in the US....Dad was stationed in Spain till mid-'79 or so.80's cars RULE. Mostly the Japanese ones are what really float my boat. (That's why I drive one). Now the car I almost bought before I got my '88 200SX, that was even more '80s, it was an '84 200SX, the last year to carry a Datsun badge, had a trick Knight-Rider-ish digital dash, with a tachometer made up of a row of LED's, and it had a voice module. Total '80s.
