....please, that's a mod I see a lot people here jumping at if...when...it becomes available. I've already seen similar things where people just make the light shine through the logo. When this comes out its over.

This reminds me of seeing ford and chevrolet trucks with the illuminated tailgate/bonnet emblems when I was a kid. At that time I thought it was 'cool' but now it seems an idea about 20 years old, only now it's upgraded with LED lighting. Not my cuppa.

Good point Larz, and begs the broader question - why are automakers so slow to offer what the customer wants (and then charge big money for it)? It shouldn't have cost $2500 for the M's Bose sound system when aftermarket surround sound units can be found for $250...

A great question, Wing Feather. Although I absolutely LOVE driving my M, and enjoy my bose surround, BUT ... it pales against B&O, Levinson, etc in other brand cars (also at an inflated price tag, I'm sure). So why Bose and not these other (and in my opinion better) systems in our Ms?
Allow me to smirk and say it might be that the people who picked the sound system are in some way connected with team who devise advertising campaigns?
Mercedes advert: aggressive drifting, balls out speeding, limitless advances and gadgets.
Lexus advert: people will stop in busy crosswalks just to jealously gaze at my car, hypnotised even.
Infiniti advert: my dog's sweater is unraveling because 3 black cars slowly drove by?

I swore I was the only one scratching my head at that BS commercial. And then the audacity of putting the car in an Indy race....really? The car is just THAT powerful and a performer to be cruising in an Indy race (and its just simply annoying lol). The commercials are just so stupid and ill thought out. I couldn't even imagine how they'd advertise this if they got it'll

WOOOWWWW. They're trying to hide their sub-par quality behind a cool badge. You know what's funny? It kind of suits the demographics of who buys new Mercedes. They typically enjoy looking at pictures and charts to better understand budgeting, forecasting, and historical data.

Adverts are supposedly set to attract a particular segment of the population

Mercedes is after people who want speed, styling, agressive driving.
Lexus is after people who like avante guard styling and perfection

Here is the scary part ...

Ermm.. what does it say that we went for the car advertised with clothes that unravel?
Exhibitionists! Well, perverts have to drive too, don't they?
