I had a roofing nail in a tire on my truck that was causing a slow leak. I called a couple of places this afternoon and got a quote for over $30 at Goodyear, and found other places were closing too soon to get in. For the fun of it I called Sam's and found that they actually repair tires free of charge for members... even if they weren't purchased there.

I was out of there in about 45 minutes, with the tire patched with a combination plug and patch, which from what I can tell is the best approach available.

So if you feel comfortable with Sam's Club tire guys working on your car and need a tire patched, this might be a good option for you.

I found mention of it on the internet, so I assume it's company wide - but who knows... maybe some states have weird tire patching regulations that would cause them to decide exclude those markets?

Now how much did you spend while you were waiting for that tire repair? Hehehe.. :gapteeth:

This picture is so Bentonville -- home of where the Ferarri and F-150 converge.

Amazingly enough I only spent $1.09 + tax on an Icee. I got there pretty often though... we use lots of paper towels in a household with a 20 month old!

That looks like a very painful convergence of an F150 and Ferarri. Any report of what happened?

A friend from another car club lives near the house and provided the following details:

A Wal*Mart/Sams VP's house in Bentonville was hit by the F150 when a 16yo driver lost control after he dropped a lit smoke in his lap.

Over $150,000 damages occurred. (Two other cars were hit first, one a 3 day old Cadillac CTS and a 6 mo old Acura TL)

You cannot see the damage to the floor above but the 8-inch floor joist had to be replaced as the truck cracked them.

Many people would drive by after the accident to see the repairs in progress. It took over a month to fix the house once the job started. The brick facade over the garage had to be removed to replace the floor joists. The floor had to be propped up from inside the garage.

The VP had a temporary garage put up in his front yard during the construction repairs.

Pulling the cars apart brought more damage to the poor red Ferrari. The pickup, the Ferarri, and new CTS were all totalled.

The CTS owner no longer parks on the street, he uses his driveway now.

The VP sold the house a year later and moved back to Seattle.

I wish we had a Costco here... from what I hear Costco sounds like the answer to "Sam's is to Walmart as ______ is to Target"

I don't seriously know how I could buy some things without Costco. Not everything there is super cheap, but some things are very cheap. Customer service is great in that your can return anything after god knows how long you have owned it (except for electronics that are 90 days), free repairs on glasses, free flat repair, and some crazy good prices on certain things.
