Converting Non-HUD dash to HUD

Has anybody tried to convert a non-HUD dash to a HUD dah. I have a s13 with a really cracked, hud dashboard. I can find used non-hud dashes but not any with the hud option. Thinking mabee I can cut a hole for the hud display on the windshield. What do you guys think?

Pretty sure you have to buy a HUD windshield... not sure though... I know when I called to replace my windshield, they asked if it had the HUD or not... and with the HUD it was gonna be around 400 dollars more.

I've got a HUD windshield. I'm just looking for a replacement dash but my car is hud and all the dashes I find are non-hud. I was just wandering if anybody had ever tried to modify a non-hud dash into a hud dash so that it had the opening up on top for the windshield.

Probably no one has tried, if your HUD dash is in that bad of shape it is probably possible to cut it out and mold it in the non-hud one. But that is a lot of trouble. I would suggest just searching for a HUD dash, should be some around the Carolinas. I just sold one last year.

And for reference, if you have HUD and don't have the HUD winshield, just measure the location of that film and put a piece of tint there.
