Ok well let me start by saying im new here i just signed up to ask some stuff about converting My Na 300Zx to TT

Well i have a 91z and i wanna TT it very soon and i wanted to know How hard is it going to be?

I know a decent amout about the car and have worked on many cars and some of my friends are going to be helping me do this that work with turbo cars everyday! And own them, But i just wanna know a base price of how much it would cost me to do this.

Ive found a TT motor on Ebay for like 1400 Shipped, I know that im also going to need another stuff, I wanna ditch the side months right from the start and just use a front mount intercooler, Here are a few of my Questions

Do i need a TT fuel pump, Im just guessing i will,

Do i need different down pipes? Guessing i will

Do i need A different radiator? Guessing i will

Need an oil cooler

Is the ECU plug and play? Like take the NA one out and just plug the TT one in? Or do i need to hard wire anything?

Can i use the Na flywheel? And N/A Clutch i just put in a CenterForce Dual friction 2

And i just replaced the driveshaft to a Z1 1peice

How about vaccum? Do i need anything else ?

I really been wanting to do this for about a year now and now that its almost summer i really really wanna get this done.. Im sorry for all the ?s but now that im down to it all these things are just running through my head and i just want this to work right! lol

Thanks alot guys and girls..

Matt

this has been cover repeatedly. do a search for conversions on nico.and your best route is a donor car or a jdm front clip. unless you want to pay 10 grande in new parts.good luck bro

An N/A to TT "conversion" isn't done on the Z, as the engines are different enough to necessitate a motor swap.

Find a VG30DETT and swap it in, it's FAR less work.

Welcome to Nico!doing a full clip or simply selling you car in favor of a TT are the better methods, you can turbo the N/A but with the higher compression ratio you are more likley to preignite and trash the motor

to address some of you questons, the side mounts are nice as they do not block airflow to the radiator and they arequite capable and come on stock TT's so if you swith cars or buy a front cut you already have them no added expence, also with a front mount you need dual inlets and dual outlets with additional piping or if you stay with the side mounts you guessed it you already have the piping

radiator is the same

you dont edd an oil cooler

I am pretty sure you have to have the complete TT harness to go with the ECU, I don't think the n/a has a knock sensor

na flywheel and clutch are fineand if you get an aftermarket unit just be sure it fits your flywheel, or click the link in my sig, great people and great prices on quality aftermarket flywheels and clutches, I have had bad luck with CMDF, lasted only a short while

one piece driveshaft you'll nbeed to gett he one for the n/a the pinion flange is different

Ok i would like to clear up that im not trying to twin turbo my motor but buy a twinturbo converion off of a company!

I would be keeping my N/A transmission as there the same unit so i could also keep my driveshaft

here is what im talking about , But of corse insted of a AUTO transmission ill get one with a 5Speed transmission so i get the right ECU,
