Is it ugly? Ive been told just to get an SR and a transmission will come with it, how much would the transmission be by itself if i wanted to keep the KA?

:(

depends on the well being of the transmission you buy. i got mine for 300, included a transmission from a 96 s14 w/30000 miles, a pilot short shifter, and a s14 driveshaft

not really a pain except for getting the transmission back into the engine, the rest is pretty easy if you are good with your hands. just reasearch alot and look at fsm's

ps: it cost me about 700 total to do the swap, with brand new oem clutch etc. i still have yet to get rid of some stuff to sell so it will probably go down to 550 or so in the end.

Don't forget all the clutch parts need to be installed too. You'll need to cut a place in for the clutch pedal and the clutch master cylinder, right? Plus I'd imagine you'll need a ECU from a manual trans. car. I'd think they'd be different too.

i would advise buying a new flywheel and new clutch parts of course. just read through an fsm for all the small springs and stuff etc. you need for the to bearing. you do need to cut a hole for the clutch pedal, about the size of the end of a medium size shampoo bottle. the guide on http://www.240sx.org is pretty complete.

you don't need an ecu for s13's, and the wiring for s13's is very simple if you do not care about your backup lights. s14's are more problematic because of obdii.

my swap cost was around $350.00 but not more than $400.00 the wiring is very simple . i got my backup taillight working and i by pass the neutral switch. im using my auto ecu.All you need is the backup light sensor and the speedo sensor. forget the 4th 5th sensor while using the auto ecu.
